Here is a list of some awesome events along with a few suggestions as to how you could spend the weekend.
1. For the Football Fanatics
What: Chelsea vs Arsenal
When: Saturday, 19th September, 5:15 KO
Where: Stamford Bridge
Live On: Star Sports 2, Star Sports HD 2

footballblog
Weekend reminds me not of holidays but FOOTBALL. The best league in the world would be coming your home. This Saturday, you should definitely watch this epic early kick off between two local rivals. Even though they don’t consider each other as their primary rival, but they always have had a strong battle. This time it’s the North London Reds visiting the home of Southwest London Blues. It’s a derby that needs to be watched even from a neutral point of view. Even though Chelsea won 4-0 last Wednesday night in Champions League, The Blues are on their worst start of the Premier League and just maybe that is where Arsenal can capitalize and take away 3 points for themselves. Adding gas to the fire, the feud between the two managers last Community Shield meet at Wembley, where Arsenal won 1-0 against Chelsea, will be the fascinating thing to watch as how they would react with each other in their first meet after last incident. Maybe this is where Chelsea take revenge of their loss and get back on track to a rough path to the top of table and prove they were the same team winning the Barclay’s Premier League last season. Go out, call friends or do whatever it takes, but don’t miss the match. A derby match for an early kick off is rare.

2. For the homebound Bookworms
What: Read “Fight Club” by Chuck Palahniuk
Where: Home Sweet Home
When: Over the weekend

fight-club
The famous “Fight Club” both in the theater and in pages is one blood scattered book that you should anytime. I’d pick this book up anytime whenever time gives me permission. If you are still a young blood or into a action pack story, the plot is all about a bunch of young men, frustrated in their budgeted white collar jobs (day jobs). These guys find a way to pound each other close to death and plot destruction on a less personal scale. The book can get as violent and at a certain point hated but the author still keeps the narration and the plot interesting.
Highly recommended for the ones who have watched the movie and are willing to experience additional vulgarism, curiosity and extended scenes that you missed in the film. Shocker!!

3. For the motorheads
What: NADA Auto Show 2015
Where: Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall, Kathmandu
When: Friday and Saturday

IMG_1186

For the Movie Buffs :

What: Watch Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
Where: Cinemas around the city
When: Over the weekend

Mission_Impossible_Rogue_Nation_posterThe fifth installment in the Mission Impossible franchise, Rogue Nation is without a doubt the best since Ghost Protocol. In this movie we follow Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruz, who goes rogue to track down the mastermind of a secret organization of known as The Syndicate. This movie has all the making of a mega summer blockbuster. The story hasn’t been this captivating and personal since the original. The action is almost non-stop as we travel to various exotic locations throughout the globe. The acting is top notch. The movie has a perfect blend of action, thriller, suspense and comedy. This movie probably has the best bike chase scene I’ve ever seen which itself takes place after a heart pounding car chase.  They say that a movie is just as good as its villain. It really feels like Ethan Hunt has found his match in this one. The supporting actors do their job as usual. Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames bring the best out of the movie. The female lead was beautiful as she was deadly. I loved this movie and can’t stress enough how much I’d suggest you to watch it in the cinema hall.

The two giants of English football are set to lock horns this week again, under the floodlights at the Emirates Stadium for another mouth watering match. The team from the Mersey-side has started the season on a high note with two straight wins while maintaining 100% clean sheet. Arsenal too got off to the mark with single goal win against Palace. Will the Reds hand Arsenal another straight home loss or will the gunners come blazing and snatch the 3 points? Make sure to stuff your fridge with beers and munchies because the weekend may be over but football hasn’t!
